--What other artistic pursuits (if any) to you indulge in beyond writing?

Oh, not very many--not much time, alas. I like to cook, if that counts. I’ve taken to trying to make gifsets--I have no artistic ability at all, but I find the process of trying to capture the right moment and communicate it clearly through a gifset an interesting visual challenge.

In writing this week, I was almost done a chapter when I realized the scenes were out of order, and something that happened early should be happening later. I hate when that happens, because I’m not good at juggling scenes, making sure all the references are cleaned up so people don’t refer to things that haven’t happened, etc. So I’ve been tugging my hair on that one. On the plus side, this chapter is setting up a chapter I’ve been looking forward to writing, with an event that was originally going to be kind of a throwaway but has become really emotionally fraught and important, so that’s a pleasure. I hope writing--and any other creative work you do--been going well for you!

Knitting is my big one currently. I recently decided that I'd learn to knit properly so I'm about half done making myself a copper-colored shawl. It's fun though I have to be careful not to knit too much and overstress my arms. I also occasionally draw (and judge my art a thousand times harder than my writing) and attempt to do face painting for my dolls. Not so good at either of those.

Writing was going well--I finished the long story that I started that was supposed to be short. Then I caught a minor cold and my period hit and pfft, all writing evaporated. I expect I'll be right back at it when I feel a bit better. It's hard to write when you feel like ugh. *sad sigh*

Good luck with the out of sequence scenes! That's always a challenge to fix.
