--What other artistic pursuits (if any) to you indulge in beyond writing?
Oh, not very many--not much time, alas. I like to cook, if that counts. I’ve taken to trying to make gifsets--I have no artistic ability at all, but I find the process of trying to capture the right moment and communicate it clearly through a gifset an interesting visual challenge.
In writing this week, I was almost done a chapter when I realized the scenes were out of order, and something that happened early should be happening later. I hate when that happens, because I’m not good at juggling scenes, making sure all the references are cleaned up so people don’t refer to things that haven’t happened, etc. So I’ve been tugging my hair on that one. On the plus side, this chapter is setting up a chapter I’ve been looking forward to writing, with an event that was originally going to be kind of a throwaway but has become really emotionally fraught and important, so that’s a pleasure. I hope writing--and any other creative work you do--been going well for you!

Date: 2014-06-27 03:11 pm (UTC)Writing was going well--I finished the long story that I started that was supposed to be short. Then I caught a minor cold and my period hit and pfft, all writing evaporated. I expect I'll be right back at it when I feel a bit better. It's hard to write when you feel like ugh. *sad sigh*
Good luck with the out of sequence scenes! That's always a challenge to fix.

Date: 2014-06-29 07:34 am (UTC)God, isn't it frustrating how our bodies can be damaged by even the most mundane things? I keep wrecking my arms simply by leaning on the keyboard the wrong way as I type, it's so annoying.
I did try crochet and cross-stitch when I was a youngling! I would really like to go back to the cross-stitch sometime, I think...

Ugh, I am sorry to hear that! I know it will come back, though--you are indefatigable! (My god, I had to look that last word up, I mangled it completely). :) Having survived the Re-Organizing, I'm going through a cheerful renaissance at the moment, although there's a bit of tension to it because I know I've got to get a backlog of writing done before August...looking at my calendar I do think that the first three weeks of August may well have zero writing time in them. *trembles*
