--Do you ever get rude reviews and how do you deal with them?

Not very often, actually. I'll sometimes get reviews that manage to hit a nerve in some way, but they're usually not written with malice and I can just compartmentalize my annoyance. I've also gotten people arguing with my shipping choices in kind of obtuse ways sometimes, but there's not much you can do about that either. :P I've learned to mostly just say "Hey, thanks for reading!" and move on, it's such a tiny fraction. I hope no one has any horror stories to share, but this would be the place to do it!

I've been having a hard time getting sidetracked into other projects lately, which is frustrating and makes me sad at a certain level, but you gotta run with what inspires you. I think I'm almost done with another chapter--it's running a little short, but once it achieves what I set out to achieve I have to call it done! How about all of you?

I ignore any comments my old fics get out of fear of these, but usually not. Most people are nice. What I dislike are, as you say, obtuse reviews, when a reader belligerently does not get what I'm trying to accomplish. A reason I moved it, aside from being done with livejournal as a whole, was to escape one such reader who while they were fairly important in my personal life at the time, liked to leave really clueless comments on my fiction posts.

I wrote a thing lately, and am trying to keep going and not just rest on my laurels, but time has been a crunch - in a good way, preparing for the move and positive socialization are happening. But it means I will be a busy bee this month.

I always fear being that kind of reader, because I know it can be really galling! Now and then I get a response by a writer that tells me I missed something, and I have to bite my lip and not come charging back in saying "SORRY SORRY I'M NOT AN IDIOT I PROMISE." I just resolve to get it more right next time, usually. :)
