I love me a good symbol! And I'm lucky with wrestling because championship belts are these INCREDIBLY fraught concrete symbols of success. Like, the tag titles symbolize cooperation and partnership, and singles titles symbolize individual success, so as a character develops, the titles that they win reflect where they are. (Half of my OTP is probably about to be in a tag team with SOMEONE OTHER THAN THE OTHER HALF, this is blasphemy!)

Hmm, I guess I'd count the Raven and the Nightingale as important symbols in my Edwardian AU. It seems to fit that era better than Batman and Robin. ☺️

I enjoy seeing how symbolism is used in fiction and I can imagine that in sports, it is there a lot with championships and all that it entails. Boo on your OTP being split up though! Just rude.

Within canon, the major symbolism is of course, the Superman on and what it means for Clark and how humanity sees it. I don't think it plays as much a part in my current WIP (and I don't think to use/am not very good at using symbolism in the first place) though Lois is struggling to find her place and really balance her costumed life and life outside of it and that does include her Kryptonian heritage.
