--Has a comment someone has left on a fanfic of yours ever made you laugh out loud?

Oh, I am sure! A lot of comments are really clever and delightful (more clever than I am, often!)

My fannish thing for this week is that I did a podcast this morning! They had me on to talk about my favorite characters and I did. For three hours. And now am riddled with anxiety that I wasn't clever enough--the podcast hosts are so clever and I am generally quite slow and earnest, so I've been painfully second-guessing myself all day, noooo.

I hope your fannish life is going well and you're not second-guessing yourself!

The podcast sounds like fun! And I'm sure you did great. It's easy to second guess yourself, especially in the face of people who are naturally witty and clever, but I think as long as you were being true to who you are, it works out well. Sometimes, when you force a second personality, it just rings hollow, and people trying to out do each other on how funny they can be usually falls flat.

Definitely comments have made me laugh! Readers can be so funny (and I have more of a subtle sense of humor myself too). I mentioned about how melodramatic I used to be, and going off that, I found this comment on an old fic when I was looking for something else last year and they were like "What did Oliver ever do to you, except be handsome", which was funny to me.

When I told my sister about the podcast, she asked "Were you uncomfortable the whole time, or did you have fun while you were doing it and now you're second-guessing yourself? Because if it's the latter that's just anxiety speaking." I thought that was a good way of looking at it!

Yes, he was suffering ... emotionally. And too true- he was one of my faves and I did like to make him suffer a lot. Him and Clark both.

Yes, I've gotten funny comments and have laughed out loud. Funny ones are way better than persnickety comments! ☺️
