--How would you describe your writing process?
Haha, at the moment almost nonexistent, alas! Ideally, I tend to come up with an idea--usually for a basic plot trope or a key scene, then figure out a plot that allows me to get to that scene or enjoy that trope to the fullest. I tend to be a really linear writer--I start at the beginning and if I get stuck, I'm stuck until I figure it out! I'm not good at skipping around, though sometimes I wish I were...
How's the writing process been for what you're working on right now? Mine is pretty typical right now--I got a basic idea, I'm doing research (what was the gay scene like in Liverpool in the 1950s? What was life like in the Merchant Marine in the 1950s? What was life like for a graphic designer in the 1970s in New York City?) It's taking longer than usual because it's set in something so close to the real world...

Date: 2022-04-05 01:10 pm (UTC)I'm constantly doing research, especially if it's a story set in the past. Research can be fun! :)
My usual pattern is write in longhand in my notebook, and then edit while I type it up. I never have to worry about losing the story what with various computer troubles, because it's in the notebook. :)

Date: 2022-04-08 11:20 am (UTC)It's funny, by the time I started writing fic, I wasn't using paper at all anymore. The few times I've tried writing longhand have been kind of disasters, I just can't think that way anymore, I need the keyboard!
