Open Thread: Oracle Hotline

--What parts of the writing process are you most comfortable with? Least?

Oh, I love writing dialogue! My least is probably, well, editing. I mull stuff over a lot but once it's written out that's probably the way it's going to stay unless I have an actual editor who pushes me (the nonfiction I've gotten published got edited and it was honestly a real pleasure to have someone tighten up my writing! But I could never do it on my own).

I hope you get to write more of what you're comfortable with this week! (I'm in "overly detailed worldbuilding" mode right now trying to figure out what my image of Paradise Island is...)

I enjoy setting the scene, getting the reader into the characters' surroundings. And of course I enjoy describing the food, ha, ha, but it's all part of using the five senses to write. Settings can evoke sight, sound, smell, etc., and food can especially give you taste.

Least favorite? Editing! I hate 'do-overs'.
