My next article is written and languishing in the editor's inbox! This freelance writing is for the birds--I like being able to post when I want to so I can be timely! On the other hand, the Ringer has a serious editorial staff and I have to admit every change they've recommended to my writing has been useful and made the pieces better, so that's nice. I've submitted pieces places where they don't edit at all, and that always makes me uneasy! Please edit my work!

I'm off to work on another piece. I never would have expected nonfiction would end up being my preferred genre! How is your work going right now and what stage is in? May you post something which makes you happy this week!

Things go in cycles. Non-fiction now, perhaps fiction in your future again. :)

My work is going pretty well. I'm a little stalled with my original fic, but not completely stymied. My fanfic is coming along nicely. It's still The Alienist/Murdoch Mysteries crossover and it's going a little longer than I anticipated, but sometimes you just have to let it all play out! :)

Something going longer than anticipated is one of the nicest things about fanfic! You can just let it play out and see how it goes, knowing no editor is going to get at you to tighten it up. :)

I miss fiction! I love me some good plotting and worldbuilding...

I'm on week 32 of 52 of my Short Story a Week challenge and still going well. I've got one nonfiction auditing book edging towards done between short stories, one SF romance that's got the same two chapters as it had for the last couple of months, and a Harry Potter Year 3 fanfic that's just passed 51K. Because sometimes the brain just wants easy and fanfic is easier right now.

Having someone telling you what to improve is very helpful. A good editor is worth so much!

I'm in the idea stage for a couple of things and canon reviewing and writing flash fics on the side, and only posting when I like them enough, right now. But the recent flash fic I posted made myself very happy, so there's that! :)

Yeah, the nonfiction work I've done until now was unedited and it's actually been a thrill to look at what they've changed and realize how they're spotting and fixing some quirks of my writing I didn't even know I had. Sometimes I disagree a bit, but never to the extent that it's worth fighting over, so that's good!

Canon review! I don't know which canon, but anything comics-based can make canon review a really arduous process sometimes (wrestling is the same way, there's just... so much!) Yay for happy flash fics, too!
