Oh, I'm reading a book of essays about Superman! Some of them are good and some are awful, but it's interesting to read so many different takes on him and be reminded what a surprisingly complex figure he is.

I didn't finish my last fic for the exchange, unfortunately! It was going to be an NC-17 treat for the recip because I was worried they wouldn't like the G-rated fic I gifted them with... and considering they've neither commented nor kudosed my gift, I guess my intuition was right, alas. My style of fic doesn't seem to fit in very well with current fic-writing conventions, so I should probably steer clear of exchanges from now.

What are you reading and why right now, and how goes the writing?

That sounds like a fun read! :)

Right now I just started A Treasury Of Classic Mystery Stories, a compilation of 19th-and-early-20th-century authors, including, of course, Poe, Doyle and Christie. I love the way a 19th-century author turns a phrase! :)

I just finished what I call my 'comfort book', The Fifties by David Halberstam. I've read it several times and like the insights and examples in this book. It covers just about everything: the Cold War, Korea, Elvis and Marilyn, television, Levittown, Betty Friedan, the Pill...you name it! :)

I also just finished Janet Evanovich's Fearless Fourteen, the best of her Stephanie Plum mysteries. :)

So there you have it: mystery, history, and bounty hunting! ;)

I just started writing a Daisy/Daniel fanfic from Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D.. Cute couple! :)

I'm reading a long essay about pluralism affects society abd has changed the way identity is formed and has become more complex and fluid. It's really interesting and has given me food for thought relating to current political discussions and issues in a European context.

Also I picked up a MAry Russel novel I hadn't read yet. I've been diving more into Sherlock Holmes pastiches recently and having fun with some of them.

Wrote an exchange fic with unliekly characters that earnes some truly amazing and kind comments. Now I'm tryaing to figute out a remix but can't settle on angle.
