superhero_muses--What is the key theme and/or message of your current WiP?
Hey, I just started a new story for an exchange, and finally accepted that if I waited until work and housecleaning was done, I would NEVER write, so I had to add it to my daily to-do list rather than hoping I would ever get caught up enough to "deserve" to write. And I got a thousand words written immediately, so that's great! Let's see, the theme of this story is "passion and betrayal," because the main character is a member of a team of very stoic people, and he's the only one who's incredibly passionate about everything. So when one of the team members betrays the team, my POV character is basically suffering for everyone else in the team, because they're so bad at showing emotions. This is a fun theme, and it was really fun to write some flashback scenes with some heavy foreshadowing of the looming tragedy!

Date: 2020-07-17 01:27 pm (UTC)Haunting is the word for my works right now: spooks, haunted house, seances, heh heh. The first draft is done but it needs work. It's a story in The Alienest fandom.
I'm also exercising my comedy chops. I got an idea for the '60s TV show, Green Acres, a surreal comedy that is underappreciated, IMHO. :) It's fun to go from drama to comedy.

Date: 2020-07-24 07:49 pm (UTC)Also working on exchange fic. The topics go along the lines of "love and hate, order and chaos" and generally "love instead of being a bully." Not sure it's working out the way I want, but I hope the recipient will like it.
