Well, usually from canon, if I'm at all lucky! That's definitely how I get started writing fanfic, at least. When canon stops being as inspirational, I often will pull in ideas from other things I'm consuming--for example, watching the Chinese drama Guardian has made me want to write some more time travel fic.

What's inspiring you right now?

Canon is definitely a starting point. :)

I did become inspired to write a story about Natasha and Pepper watching an electrical storm after seeing an episode of Criminal Minds set during a storm, and wrote a recent The Alienist John/Sara adventure after watching one of those hokey ghost hunter shows, so other canon can inspire stories for me. :)

Right now my inspiration is Niagara Falls, Canada Day and the Fourth of July. Natasha and Pepper again! The ladies have been insistent in getting screen time! :)

Much like you. Canon is the starting point (as I usually writge fanfic) and then sometimes other canons or media I consume at the moment inspire new ideas and there are always non-ficitons and real life moments that can make it into the notebook.

Oh, time travel fic. ❤️ Lots of people are around me are into Guardian right now. I should probably check it out at some point.

Right now I'm a bit on rereading old DC comics role and considering Boostle and time travel and how some of these DC comics ideas and tropes would have made for a better MCU Endgame movie. ^^
