Open Thread: Oracle Hotline
Mar. 20th, 2020 09:10 amWelp, I've been getting more writing done the last couple of weeks simply because my university has strictly cut down on the number of meetings I have to go to, and most of the wrestling I would attend/watch is canceled. I have wasted the extra nervous energy by creating a timeline to help me organize my thoughts for the very frivolous PWP series I've been working on, which probably does not need that much preparation.
Checking in with all of you: how is your situation, wherever you are? I hope things are well with you and that you're all okay.

Date: 2020-03-20 02:30 am (UTC)I'm safe and healthy and still have a job, as does my husband, so I'm doing better than a lot of people I know. My company makes raw materials for medical companies so I'm not likely to lose my job, either. Just... worried, you know? My mom's off in Mexico and trying to get home again. I spent most of yesterday setting up her plane travel and then a couple of hours later they announced that they were going to close the US-Mexico border for all but essential travel.
She'll get home. "My visa is running out and I need to go home" is pretty close to essential, I think. I hope.
...
I'm fretting, that's how I am. *rueful laugh*
But I am still writing and I'm cleaning my home office in spare moments (it looks MUCH better than it used to, though there's still a ways to go) and we're good. We actually are.
I hope you're doing all right and that your productivity keeps up! Here's hoping I manage to get mine back, too.

Date: 2020-03-23 02:43 pm (UTC)Fanfic is going along at a steady pace. Finally finished the first draft of the Han/Luke wedding story! It needs work but I have other stories that can be posted in the meantime.
Stay safe!

Date: 2020-04-28 09:55 am (UTC)Strangely enough while everyone has more free time than usual, work load exploded for me which means energy levels are often very low and I work longer than I should. On the other hand I'm in the comfortable position of having that stability of full time job and paycheck when many neighbors suffered cuts - so while it doesn't help the writing I don't think it's something to complain about.
I do love the idea of overorganizing a frivolous PWP series. ;) It reminds me of a project I should really get on.
