Oh, there are way too many! Warm comments are one of the best things about writing. I got a few telling me they got into pro wrestling because of my wrestling/DC crossover, and that fills me with delight, that I was able to describe the appeal enough to get people interested.
I got some writing done this week, though not much! Working on an exchange fix featuring some hair-washing and gentle pining, definitely a couple of my favorite things combined. Hope yours went well?

Date: 2019-06-07 03:07 pm (UTC)On the fanfic side, though, a lovely reader left four HUGE comments on one of my stories, great sprawling detailed discussion of what they loved about it and that was... I haven't answered the last couple of comments just because I'm still grinning when I look at them.
There's such a difference in what comments / reviews are between fanfic and original fic. I miss the interaction on fanfic but hey, making money is a cool payoff. (If only I was making more but then I said the same thing about the number of comments I got on my fanfic so, you know...)
Good job on the exchange fic! I'm halfway through the 10th chapter of my first Novel Challenge book and having a blast. I should, fingers crossed, finish it way ahead of time which will be awesome. And it's fun so that's good too. Have a great week!

Date: 2019-06-07 03:15 pm (UTC)I do love comments that go into detail on what the reader liked. How else does an author know what works and what doesn't?
It was through comments that I made so many friends! LJ was certainly a great place for discussion and making friends, and that is one of the things I treasure most about receiving them. :)
Hmm, a little bogged down at the moment. I think I'll be turning my attention next week to the final stages of my pro novel and maybe even starting a new one.
My burrowing through my old notebooks has helped with little hidden gems that I can polish up for posting. :)

Date: 2019-06-11 05:40 am (UTC)If I had to share one, I'd probably share one I got on a fic I struggled with very hard and getting that comment was the moment I went, "okay, yeah, that struggle was worth it." I still go back to look at it when I feel very down about my ability to weave a story.
Not too much writing happened after I did a marathon writing and posting session last Monday to get the RBB draft to a coherent adventure story. (I may have added 10k of transitioning parts in a day...) The rest of the week was going back for edits after my beta got through it and now I'm finishing ficlets that I started write after Endgame!! Still so man feels!!

Date: 2019-06-27 07:36 pm (UTC)Had a few slow days this week, but wrote a lot, too! A lot of it was exchange letters, but I did work on some fics, too. And some romance writing tips for the DCU Bang. xD They seemed to appreciate that, so it was worth it!
