Ooooh, also tough. I've written some stories that I think have a much higher "cost of admission" and are thus harder to get into--the story based on "Samurai of Steel" that I wrote, for example, kind of needed knowledge of an obscure trade paperback AU and the willingness to read Bruce genderbent, so even though I'm very proud of it, I understand why it didn't have as a large a readership right from the beginning.

I've started a wrestling story with identity porn! I've missed writing secret identity hijinks, one of my favorite things in the superhero genre, and I'm lucky that my wrestling OTP has a person who wrestled under a mask for years, so there's some built-in identity fun. Actually, luck probably has little to do with it, that's probably one of the reasons I was drawn to the pairing to begin with... How about you, what's catching you attention this week?

That is a toughie! I've found that my longer fics don't always get as much attention as my shorter ones, so I'd say the stories I've poured more energy into are probably underrated.

I started an Avengers story tying into their last movie last night. It'd be nice f I could get it posted before the next movie! :)

This is true, there's a point of vanishing returns, isn't there? That sweet spot of about 3-10K works well for me...

I have to go with much the same answer as last week: That's not something I think about. I like something about every single one of my stories. Whether people like them or not is up to them. I'm terrible at seeing which is 'better' or 'worse' according to an audience's POV.

I've been battling against a huge audit at work so I've spent all week on one short story. I'm almost done with it, hopefully it'll be finished today, but man, it's been like pulling teeth. It's for an anthology someone else is doing so I really want to do well at it. Just need to get it done.

Yeah, well-put! You can't control other peoples' reactions, you just have to have things you love in your own work.

Yes, all of my Rurouni Kenshin fics lol. I'm bias because SaitouxSano is my OTP very hardcore right now and I'm getting almost no attention on those fics, so, it hurts. xD But I get why that's the case. Not only is Rurouni Kenshin an older series, buuut~ Thanks to revelations about Watsuki, it will be forever tainted. But my muse wants to indulge in what it wants to indulge in, and I am all about self indulgence~

Finally some writing this week!!! It was mostly prompts and notes, but I did start a few fics (ahahaha last thing I need to do is start random fics that I derp away from a day later, but hey! It was prose writing!!! =D) and I think I am finally figuring out what I want for story exchanges, so that feels like a massive win for me. I struggle very hard with requesting fic for exchanges. xD
