I found a new list of questions, these about writing in general! So...

Do you struggle with the ‘boring’ parts of writing?

Hm, what are the "boring" parts? I assume the question means the parts that are not personally inspiring/energizing to me, the parts that exist to connect things I AM interested in. Usually no, I don't struggle with them, to be honest! Sometimes it can be hard to get going on them, but once I do, there's usually something I find that sparks my interest and is a pleasure to write!

I am almost done with a small ficlet this week--nothing in-depth, just a little character study to try and get my head around a different character. I've been spending a lot of my days sleeping, shocked at how exhausted I am now that this difficult semester is over. I walked to the coffeeshop for breakfast and had to lie down for a bit when I got back because I was just too beat from the five-minute walk to and fro. I hope you're less tired, or that if you are, you also have some time to recover and recuperate!

The only 'boring' part of writing that I struggle with is editing because the story's done and I want to share it, not sit there and fix mistakes. I mean, I do it. I just don't enjoy it. And, honestly, I don't invest a huge amount of time and effort into the editing because I haven't seen the value of it. A beta read, fixing typos, proof for word mistakes and I'm good.

*shrug* So far, not too many complaints other than my comma issue. *grin*

Whoot for getting things done, even if they are small! I've been super busy and super stressed but I've kept my daily writing going (at about 500 words per day, ugh). I'm almost done with my latest novella which makes me happy. You know, other than the grinding it away by 500 words at a time.

Do take time to rest and recuperate. Sometimes that's really important!

I consider editing the boring part of writing, just like [personal profile] me_ya_ri. I know it's essential and it can improve your first draft, but it's like cleaning the house: you do it one week and have to do it again the next week! :) So I'm not a big fan of editing. I consider it a necessary evil. :)

I've been kinda vegging out on YouTube the past week and doing Super Bowl-related things on-line (checking out the Rams' message board, reading articles on the sports site, etc.), so not much writing done, though I did start a drabble-length ficlet for Clark/Bruce last night.

Mostly I've been going back to my notebooks and pulling out old works that have been sitting there awhile, and trying to get those ready for posting. My new inspiration well is a bit dry at the moment, so I figure checking the stuff in storage might keep me going. :)

Keep resting! If you're this tired your body is telling you that you need to rest.

This is definitely something I can struggle with! I also tend to get bored of scenes as I am writing them and wander off lol Mid-sentence sometimes... I gotta work on that. I would say that working on the "boring" parts is something that really held me back for some of the things I wanted to finish in November aaand. They are still sitting there, unfinished. It's kind of hard to say, though, whether it was the "boring" stuff that got me, or that my mood was bad and my depression high all of November. And that uh, that definitely makes the boring bits a lot harder for me to get through. DX

I seem to be the odd one here, haha! I actually enjoy editing, as it means I finally finished something and I get to go back and make it better, since I know my first drafts are always a mess. (Per the aforementioned unfinished sentence thing I do lol) I like finding all the creative strands I missed the first go around and seeing where they take me and if they were a better option than what I wrote the first time!

I do hope that you're feeling better now!!!
