superhero_muses--How easy is your current WIP to write?
So not just "how is your writing lately," but specifically how hard is this particular WiP to write. For me it should be easy, but I'm having increasing problems writing non-gen fic for my OTP, which is so frustrating! It's led to a general block on all fic writing, too, since it's so hard to write what I really want to that nothing else is coming easy either. I'm debating signing up for Yuletide, since I feel like it could either break me out of my stasis... or I could possibly end up defaulting on Yuletide for the first time. I hope you're doing better than I am and aren't feeling so blocked!

Date: 2018-09-28 03:46 pm (UTC)I think the problem I had with it were the final chapters. I wrote them out in a first draft but was very dissatisfied with them. I knew the atmosphere I wanted to create but it wasn't coming. I think I MIGHT have an answer to that, but I'm still not sure. >:(
Halloween DOES inspire me, so I'm optimistic! :)

Date: 2018-09-29 01:28 am (UTC)It's easy because I KNOW this world. I've written a bunch of novels in it, know the timeline like the back of my hand and the characters slip into my mind easily.
It's hard because this is the most complicated story I've told in this series, yet. There's politics and social issue and echoes to current political events that I'm having to handle carefully lest it feel dated very, very quickly. And the sheer sequence of events / emotional responses to them is just... overwhelmingly big. It's a challenge to my writing skills in many ways.
Which means that I'm having fun and biting my nails at the same time, which is weird. *rueful smile*
Man, I hope you break past your block! Maybe write some silly little fluff piece for Bruce and Clark or a PWP for wrestling? Just for the pure fun of doing something fun. Might help get you unblocked since there's no pressure to do well or even finish the thing.

Date: 2018-10-05 01:41 am (UTC)Well I did manage to finish and post 5 kink stories on Sunday. All on Sunday. It was a tiring day, but things came together quite well, at least? as for more long-term WIPs, I've got two Rurouni Kenshin's I'm working on and one is going fairly well, the other is more tricky due to certain emotions that need to be present and Saitou misreading the entire situation.
Then there are my DCU Bang WIPs I need to get working on... Ahahaha. Haha. Hah. /Goes back to writing kink and/or Rurouni Kenshin.
So I have written a lot, but there are some projects giving me trouble and I need to work through that. I hope you can work through your blocks too! It's so frustrating when you're unable to work on your OTPs or fics you think should be easy because of other forces. /Side-eyes some Rurouni Kenshin fics. I'm working through that though and again, I really, really hope you can too!
