--How many unfinished works do you have going right now?
*pokes around Google Docs*
Looks like three: a vampire fic, a semi-nonfiction history of a semi-fictional character, and a three-person celebratory sex scene with a fourth person watching (consensually all around).
I'm starting to poke at the idea of a "pretend relationship" story where Clark and Bruce have to pretend to be newlyweds in the suburbs, but I have yet to be able to put together a plot framework for that yet, so it's still languishing a bit.
Really, nothing's happening elsewhere in my head until I finish up the second piece, the history. And then I'm going to need a couple of days to just cry. 50,000 words, two years, a staggering amount of research--I'm as proud of it as I am of my doctoral thesis. Maybe more so, because there's so much more of me in it. It's going to take a little while to recover from that.
I hope your writing is going well, that you're having fun, and that all your WiPs are inspiring!

Date: 2018-06-15 03:12 am (UTC)There are some bits and pieces here and there but they're like the short story start. Very likely they'll never be picked up again so I consider them dead and done.
Okay, I have to say that fictional history type things are one of my favorite things. I do hope you finish it 'cause that sounds so cool!
The Clark/Bruce thing sounds awesome, too. Hey, how about a 'history' of their marriage? 8D
Good luck with your writing and recovery from writing!

Date: 2019-05-17 07:09 am (UTC)It's such a fun format! (Can you tell the Appendices in Lord of the Rings were some of my favorite things?) I did indeed finish it and am tentatively branching out into some more recent history now, but that's a lot more uncertain...
one short story start that made me desperately uncomfortable with the tack I took (probably dead)
GAH, I've had this happen too and have ended up having to abandon things, and it's so frustrating!
I hope things are continuing well!

Date: 2018-06-17 01:51 pm (UTC)I had been working on the third book of the Bruce/Dick Edwardian saga, The Raven And The Nightingale, last year when I got sick and it sort of got derailed. I've been thinking about it again, though, so may take it up again.
My 'comfort food' Han/Luke fic is always pretty much off-and-on, and I've got a couple of Sreve/Diana stories in the works. ;)
I did a bunch of editing on my pro novel yesterday so am happy about that. So far the edits have added about 200 words and there's more to come as I'm considering adding several scenes but not quite sure what direction to take. I'll let that simmer while I do the nuts-and-bolts editing.
Non-fiction includes a couple of movie reviews and the Supergirl finale this week! :)
All your projects sound interesting, especially SuperBat in the Suburbs. ;)

Date: 2019-05-19 06:21 am (UTC)I'm hoping for some new Steve/Diana inspiration with the new movie! It looks pretty cool so far...
I hope that pro novel came together! As I get caught up (I hope I do!) I'm sure I'll see more...

Date: 2018-06-18 07:58 pm (UTC)Actually, I somewhat started a fic list in December aaand... Worked on it once? There's a lot... I have so, so many unfinished fics! (Sadly the number is probably in the hundreds. ;_; *drowns in unfinished fic*)
Your SuperBat story sounds really nice! I really look forward to that, if you decide to get on that! =D
Congratulations on finishing your huge piece!!! But wow, so much work, it really inspires me to get my butt in gear and work on some of my more involved pieces! But in the meantime, I should work on some smaller things and get back into the swing of writing. XD

Date: 2019-05-19 06:32 am (UTC)I wish I could! D: I dunno, the movies having a fairly big age difference and the comics dwelling SO much on Clark and Bruce's kids just worked together to destroy my mojo, I'm so sad about it...
(Though since they've recast Bruce as Robert Patterson, if they put him with Cavill's Clark I might find it easier to write again! *looks hopeful* Orrrrr he could be Dick Grayson as Batman, which would be wonderful to see, but nothing I'd want to write...)

Date: 2018-06-19 05:03 am (UTC)I usually have to many. I do have a whole folder of things I got started on and then didn't finish, because it didn't want to go anywhere at the time. I do eventually go back and finish them and am always grateful for the folder when I'm looking for idea to finish or rework.
Proper, WIPs that I'm writing on with more or less attention, 5.
I'm working towards a four person getting together story that needs a little more misunderstanding and adventure and right now after powering through RBB I'm taking it a bit slower for a few days and the plot outline so far is a little meager. I have two drafts that are pretty far along in the plot, so these might get my attention first.
As mentioned I wrote a lot in the past two weeks. I'm trying not to let the word counts drop too much, but a few days of break will help the brain.

Date: 2019-05-26 12:23 pm (UTC)I've only fully abandoned a couple of works so far, in the sense of never ever getting back to them!

Every plot could use a little more misunderstanding, as far as I'm concerned! I'm such a sucker for it...
I hope your WiPs and writing continued along well! :)
