--How would a dear friend or relative describe your most recent POV character?

You know, the last few iterations of this have really clarified for me why I'm having a hard time writing my current POV character--because Aleister Black is a total cypher in canon and I have no idea how to make him less opaque. He doesn't have dear friends or relatives, as far as I know! I assume he has a parent, but they would probably describe him as "I haven't seen him for years, I think he became a wrestler? Quiet kid..." I've toyed with making him a total con man, but then I still have no idea what he's like under the con...

I hope your POV characters are more intelligible! Or that you have the time and energy to make them more understandable, which... to be honest I'm just not very invested in him. I'm starting to wonder if I should ditch this story and get back to my more beloved characters, in this time of relative creative drought...

Anxious! Defiant, snarling at the world behind his mask! Occasionally laughing maniacally with a hysterical edge to the laughter inside his head. For Aleister Black, that is. *grin* Because I can always come up with something for backstory.

Or you could go with someone who was utterly desperate, took a chance and now finds himself trapped in the lies, unable to reach out to the people he loves because it'll make the whole house of cards collapse around him. Which would give a lovely panicked edge to everything he's doing.

*more grins*

My current POV character is Adrian who's a wolf shifter falling in love (and about to fall in bed with his love interest Leslie). His pack would say that Adrian is a sweet, wonderful responsible man who desperately needs love. The kids would say hugs. His mom and grandma would say he needs to get married. His friend Sabah (who wanders around nude most of the time) would say he needs to get railed so hard that he forgets what words are. And he'd push Leslie into being the one doing it.

Adrian's a very nice guy but his sense of responsibility is cock-blocking him pretty badly at the moment. And everyone wants to fix that for him. ;)

As for your story, hey, you can give it a little more effort with a chosen backstory for him and if it doesn't work, totally drop the story and have fun with something else. Good luck!

People would describe Dick as cheerful most of all. Then they would say that he was kind, generous, and fun to be around. :)

Dick can be Bat-serious when he has to be, but even when he was Batman, he did it his way.

If I could stop being tired, I might get some writing done! :)

Ah Saitou... It really depends on who is describing him! Borrowing some words from own my wife, Saitou's wife would describe him as passionate, skilled, very taciturn, but quiet. He is a versatile man, to have been able to live through all he did, but very much rooted in his traditions.

Sanosuke, however... He'd probably say that Saitou is a rigid bastard that needs a new personality. Of course, this depends if Sanosuke is close with Saitou or not. A Sanosuke closer with Saitou might see the sadness that Saitou hides away behind false smiles and words meant to purposely anger, so he can remain isolated.

Writing has improved! I even finished an original story for an exchange. First thing I've finished in like... eons. Literal eons.
