--What is your most recent POV character’s greatest disappointment?
Still on Kevin Owens (because I have not gotten a lot done beyond nonfiction this week) and it's almost certainly a 30-second title loss match (he should have been more prepared!)
I finally got to see Wonder Woman here in Japan and really enjoyed it! And would pay good money for an all-Themiscyra Amazon movie, like many people.
Have you gotten more writing done? I'm hoping to work on a story set within the Lego Batman universe, which is a really interesting challenge! I might not be up to it, but it's worth a try...

Date: 2017-09-01 02:30 am (UTC)And, well. Hmm. Esme has a jillion regrets that she more or less nods to and then strides right past. I think her biggest regret (which will be solved in the novel this chapter came off of) was not finding a way of dealing with the parasitic X'rx that almost ate her brain.
But in this story right now her big regret is that her girlfriend Tanya isn't as invested in their relationship as Esme is. Not that Esme's going to show it. She's just haring off all over the station trying to find a new medical scanner for Tanya since Tanya's broke. *grin* Esme's not as opaque as she likes to think she is. Especially since the trade she worked out to get said scanner is to have the local Stitch'n'Bitch crew knit a cuddle toy for a sick baby bat-alien. XD
I LOVED Wonder Woman. It comes out in BluRay on my birthday here and I've already asked for it as a present. :D
Writing Lego Batman will be a challenge--good luck with that!

The Lego Batman story came together okay! I was kind of hoping it would go in the direction that allowed me to write Lego porn, just for the cracky hilarity of it, but Clark and Bruce are really not at that stage... I'm just lucky to get them closer to friendship!

Date: 2017-09-01 04:21 am (UTC)Haha... I think I keep getting caught up in the historical Saitou Hajime vs. the Runouni Kenshin one, and I am having a hard time figuring out a good middle-ground character for him. It's really difficult to separate the fictional character from the real person, and I bet you probably know what that feels like with your wrestling characters! Having just said that, I think Saitou's greatest disappointment is probably never having a clear-cut win or lose verdict in a fight against Kenshin. All their bouts have ended in ambiguous draws, and Saitou is not a man that likes to leave something unclear or unfinished.
Wonder Woman was really just so fantastic, right??? I would SO LOVE an all Themisycra movie. I was really happy with what they did show of Themiscyra and was so afraid they wouldn't give it proper screen time and gloss over it. But it was so good! I gotta admit, my hopes were low when my wife and I went to see it, and I was pleasantly glad to be wrong~~~

Date: 2017-09-11 10:53 am (UTC)My hopes were really high by the time I got to see Wonder Woman, because I knew people I trusted really loved it, and I was not disappointed! I'm really hoping the Amazons appear in the Justice League movie in a good sequence (and are NOT killed off to show that Darkseid is Serious Business!)

Not much writing this week. I'm very sad about it too. -.- Why do work and life have to crazy AT THE SAME TIME??

Oh, that's true and so sad. I was really hoping there'd be more hope of a miraculous save, but alas...

I hate to say it, but I think I might have to skip Yuletide this year. I was dissatisfied with my exchange fic through the summer, it all felt rushed and incomplete, and I don't see my life getting any less stressful, I'm afraid. It breaks my heart, but I don't want to shortchange someone who deserves better...

Date: 2017-12-07 04:21 pm (UTC)Sian's greatest disappointment was also fairly recent (but short lived, since after the messy emotional reunion they're trying to reconcile), seeing the person who had hurt him the most walking back in his family's front door. On the day of his brother's wedding, a day where he was already viscerally reminded that his little brother had found love and bliss and he was all alone.
Mary's greatest disappointment was asking her Grandparents about her real parents and finding out that her father hadn't wanted her.
