--Does your most recent POV character have a favorite article of clothing? Favorite shoes?

Still Kevin Owens, and I suppose his championship belt or one of his official t-shirts that prove that he's finally a Big Deal would be his favorite! (Secretly his favorite is the t-shirt of his former friend and mortal enemy, which he purchased online and wears now and then when no one is around).

I'm working on a nonfiction piece, a history which is kind of chewing up a lot of energy (apparently I like my OTPs with enough complicated and contradictory history that a guide is helpful! Kevin and Sami, Clark and Bruce, John and Sherlock, even Thorin and Bilbo--they all have complex existences with different versions of themselves overlapping and contradicting and intensifying the relationship. It's a mess. I love it.) I hope you all have at least as much inspiration as me, and way more time and energy!

Hmm, it's Keanu today, just started his latest story, but he really doesn't have favorite clothes? He's a god. So you know, he can just change it if he doesn't like it.

On the other hand, Tai from the F/F contemporary romance I finished yesterday most certainly does have a favorite, not that she thinks about it. She's a flannel shirt girl. Her new girlfriend Lake catalogs all the different flannel shirts Tai wears and let me tell you, Tai has a flannel shirt for every day and every weather condition, right up to fleece flannel for really cold weather. *grin*

Which was fun to write.

XD Have much fun with the history piece! That actually sounds like fun. I try to keep up on my story bibles but never seem to be caught up. Doing it your way might be better. But I won't do it, I already know that, so I'll just sit here and admire you for having done so.

Fleece flannel (and flannel-love in general) seems like a nice quality to give a character! I don't know, there's just something about a flannel shirt that reveals a lot about a character, I feel...

The history project is really fun! It helps to have a canon that I can specifically research and reference as opposed to a world I create myself (because I KNOW my own world's history would shift around a lot!)

(Writing has been a bit slow overall because I'm nearing the end of a big crochet project. So most my focus is on that.)

Yesterday I started writing an original short story that's been eating at me all week. Set in the far future, it's your basic "humanity's first contact with aliens" story with a bit of a twist. It has the unoriginal title of "First Contact". The main character is Captain Drucilla Stafford. It is up to her to make peace with the aliens, or risk intergalactic war.

Captain Stafford would say that her favorite article of clothing would be her captain's uniform. She worked hard to earn the rank of captain and get command of her own ship.

It's funny, in my mind I design them like a comic artist or TV show would (it's the Sims influence I guess), as I always see my characters in exactly One Outfit, though I'm sure they have a variety. For Dorian, it's a grey (originally black, faded from many, many washes) band shirt with the logo washed almost completely out, almost recognizable as having once been a Judas Priest shirt, black leather pants or black jeans (leather in front of others, jeans casually at home), his dragonscale boots, and if in public, sunglasses. The t-shirt is the favorite article of clothing. He has a wide variety of band t-shirts and silly innuendo slogan t-shirts, but the Judas Priest one is his favorite (specifically, this one http://i.ebayimg.com/images/g/12wAAOSw241Yd~qZ/s-l300.jpg , he didn't actually get to see the live show associated with it, he ordered it through the mail).

OK, now I'm curious--why is this Judas Priest shirt his favorite? If it isn't from memories of a live show, what associations does it have for him?
