Welp, I totally forgot to post this when I usually do, as there hasn't been time between guests and travel. Also, I don't have access to my usual set of questions, so...I guess we'll save that for another time. Despite that I've grabbed a few ten-minute intervals to get a few sentences down, because I don't want to lose ALL momentum! Have you been having better luck than me? Is everyone busy writing Guardians of the Galaxy fic? (It doesn't come out here until September, so...yeah).

Date: 2014-08-03 05:51 pm (UTC)I'm going to keep tracking it this month and see what it tells me, just for the fun of it.
No Guardians of the Galaxy for me yet. The hubby and I rarely go to movies the first weekend or two that they're out. Can't stand the crowds. So yeah, I might see it about the same time as you. ;)
Hope your week to come is less busy!
Oh! And FYI, Child of Spring is out and I'll be letting everyone know later today. Thanks again for the readover! *big hug*

Date: 2014-08-05 12:44 am (UTC)I started a new thing where I track my writing time. Say I start typing at 10:00 and stop at 10:15, how many words do I get? Right now I'm averaging around 30 words per minute but I had one 10 minute sprint where I got about 45 wpm. I knew my writing time was fragmented but I didn't realize I was putting those words out in less than 25 minute chunks (one was only 3 minutes!) spread out throughout the day.
Wow, I confess I am very impressed by a 45 wpm rate! I'm thrilled if I can get to 20 or so. My teen guest has stymied me by trying really hard to conquer usual teen sleeping habits and is getting up early in the morning, when I was hoping to have writing time--but I can't begrudge her the fact that she's working really hard to match our sleeping habits! Well, I keep going over ideas in my head so once I have the chance to sit down and type maybe they'll form up faster--but I'd found there's a vanishing point where I really can't plan until I actually have my hands on the keyboard, you know? That level of concreteness isn't something I can manage just in my head...
I was really happy to see Child of Spring up! Thank you for giving me a sneak preview! :D
