How goes the writing for everyone this week? I am inching along on the Big Bang, but I think I've gotten to the emotional meat of the story so it might be easier to dig in now! Other things are coming along nicely...

We've talked about coming up with titles and how that can be a challenge, how so about we share! What are the titles of your last three works (either WiPs or finished, whatever you like), why did you end up with them, and how much do you like them?

"When in Rome" is the space sex party story, and honestly I'm mostly just surprised I don't have a story with that title yet, it seemed pretty straightforward.
"Three Hotel Rooms" is kind of a bland title, but since the story (not even really a story, just a word-experiment) is the descriptions of three different empty hotel rooms with the contents being hints about what the characters are going through, it fits. :)
"Here's an Idea..." is maybe my favorite title so far--not because it's clever, but because the phrase works well in the story (a character says it whenever he has a particularly daring plan, and it comes up three times, and the last time it leaves implicit a whole crazy AU future) and makes for really nice pacing, I think.

Talk titles and other writing below!

Writing is going fairly well this week. I think I'm 1-2 chapters from the end of the current novel. Maybe. I know what the ending is, just now how much I've between where I am and where I'm going.

I'm admittedly terrible at titles. Let's see:

Creaks and Groans, so chosen because the two main characters are very old and they spend a large portion of the short story groaning about their creaky bodies.

Out of Disaster, which is my Japan Romance with the four boys caught in a landslide. I think it fits because the entire romance blooms out of the disaster that changed their lives. (And the projected sequel is tentatively titled Out of Change in my head--that's the one I'm snitching your lovelorn text idea for).

Running Before the Storm, which is the novel I'm currently writing. Raelin spends the entire novel metaphorically running from the potential destruction of her clan and country so it fits, too, I think.

But coming up with titles always stumps me, especially for romances. I think I spend a total of 7 or 8 hours on Out of Disaster, just on the title. That's sad.

Good luck on your Big Bang--I'm glad that it's moving for you. :D
