Open Thread: Oracle Hotline
This late post brought to you by OH LORD NOTHING'S GETTING DONE AND I NEED A WEEK OFF PRETTY BADLY.
I've been writing here and there, though! And have so many ideas I want to write. Let me ask, what's the thing burning a hole in your brain right now, the thing you WANT to write, not NEED to write?
(I really want to get back to this story where A thinks that Enemy B's phone number has changed, so sends him increasingly lovesick texts, not knowing that B is still receiving them...)

FYI, I love the idea of that story. That is an AWESOME idea. I want to steal that idea and write a whole novel about that idea (original of course). Maybe in the Japan romances because wow, would that work with Ken, the second of the four boys caught in a landslide that I want to write about.
I mean... *happy flaily hands and excited bouncing* That's like the best trope ever. 8D

In a fantasyish AU where Judah is an evil king who has done some overthrowing etc. - Sander is put in the dungeons after he's done with her. Dorian is trapped there as well, but he's guarding them - Serathus made an oath to Judah, and since he and Serathus are bound they are forced to take part in one another's oaths. He befriends/falls in love with Sander during their mutual captivity, when at some point she at last mentions that Dade is still alive...which frees Dorian to bust Sander and himself out, because his old oath to Dade supersedes Serathus' to Judah.
Another idea I have for the wrestling AU I have thanks to Bobby Roode's theme music: Dade's been playing a cowardly heel manager, then McMahonish authority figure, and is teasing that he's going to reveal the greatest wrestler of all time, a sculpted deity of a specimen, the golden ideal in human form come to grace them all with his presence in the ring...and despite him being a heel authority figure, the fans are genuinely intrigued and hype builds. Of course, what none of the fans know is that Dade himself is trained as a wrestler but never pursued it because of his body type (he assumed a scarecrowish wrestler could never get over except as an Elsworthian joke type)...cut to the reveal, this mystery wrestler is challenging the current champ, something akin to 'Glorious' plays...and it's Dade himself, in a Ric Flair robe with slick hair and walking like he thinks he's a god...and the boos rain down from the sky. He wrestles well, using cheaty heel tactics to keep the ref bamboozled and to win the title and solidify himself as the promotion's most hated heel...cutting promos later about how he's the greatest heavyweight champion (emphasizing the 'heavy' every time with relish) of all time etc etc. Eventually someone (Mahir probably) gets over as a massive babyface when they put a merciful end to his reign.
This came about with me thinking that Bobby Roode's music doesn't really work for a heel and he's doomed to turn face eventually...simply because he actually -is- a little bit Glorious (he seems to be working tweener anyway given the number of TNA marks who cheer him). You want to put that music on someone who doesn't deserve it at all for actual maximum heel irony points.

And eeek, the eucatastrophic moment when Sander mentions Dade is still alive and Dorian realizes what that means--I can imagine that very clearly and I love it!
