Posting late because it's my holidays here and I promptly lost track of the days, yay!

2016 is nearly over! Rather than looking back, let's look forward: what are your hopes/plans/resolutions for 2017, writing-wise or fandom-wise or whatever-wise?

I want to finish this Superbat Big Bang by March, but other than that I have very few plans, to be honest. Going to avoid doing challenges and such as much as possible, because I'm not at all certain the extra pressure will be helpful. Probably I'll allow myself to be self-indulgent and write more small pieces and canon tags in the most active fandom--I somehow had convinced myself that anything under 1000 words wasn't worth posting, that I should be writing longer plotty pieces. And then I went back and looked at my early DC work and LOTS of them are just vignettes and moments written for the sheer joy of it, and I love a lot of them! No more short-fic-shaming for me! :D

I know! Holidays are terrible for keeping track of things, aren't they?

My plans / resolutions for next year on the writing front are to write every day, preferably writing over 500K during 2017, to get my publishing website set up, to publish a book every month (very doable) and a short story, too (also doable), and to do actual advertising for my writing so that I start making a profit. Maybe doable. Not sure yet. Other than that, I'm not going to nail myself down. There's so much other stuff I need to do that it's more than sufficient on the writing side.

We'll see how well I do.

Absolutely give yourself permission to write shorter things! They're so much fun and can be a lovely break from the long plotty things. I look forward to reading your short piece in 2017.

*hurls glitter back at you* I hope it's going well so far! I just got some writing done for the first time in way too long and it felt very good. Now I need to spend some time working on this damn academic paper to balance it. Rewards and incentives...

I hope the promotion and advertising go well this year for you, often those seem harder than the writing!

Hello! I'm going to be commenting over here now. I've deleted my LJ account (for several reasons). I had backed up everything over here years ago, so nothing's been lost.

I've done lots of world building this week for my novel. Unrelated to the novel, I also wrote a short story about two princesses.

My main writing plan for next year is to finish/polish up some of my short stories (both original and fanfic). I have a few of them that are mostly finished, but still have notes littered throughout that say things like: [More], [Describe thing] and [I don't where I'm going with this scene so I'm just going to skip to the next one].
