What's your favorite line of narration from a current WiP?

From something non-comics I'm hoping to post really soon: If Sami is drunk on life, Kevin feels like he’s drunk on Sami: buoyant and bright, like he could laugh, or sing, or murder someone. You probably don't know Kevin, but suffice to say I think it captures both his relationship with Sami and his way of looking at the world.

Though interestingly, looking for this has made it clear to me that dialogue is more my forte--nearly all my favorite lines in a story are dialogue. (That's next week!) What's a line or a few lines of narration you're happy with in a WiP this week?

Hmmm, I'm cheating and going with a line (several lines) from the last-finished novel as it's not yet published. The two short stories I've got at the moment are little more than a few paragraphs each. Gotta fix that this week.

Anyway, here you go:

Kaoru laughed and laughed as he pulled Yuki into his arms. Or more accurately stepped into Yuki's arms because she was taller than him even without the formal zori sandals she wore compared to his low, simple men's zori. Yuki rested her lips on his hair, heart beating faster because she knew they were getting looks from everyone.

After a long, wonderful moment where Yuki felt as though she might drift off the ground like a bit of dandelion fluff floating in the wind, Kaoru pulled back. His eyes were warm, his lips curled in a contented smile.

*beams* I just love the contrast between their heights and the way Kaoru makes Yuki feel. Plus the way she makes him feel. This is, BTW, just after they got married and just before everyone sits down to the feast to celebrate. So yeah, end of the story. :D

This week was terrible for writing. I was off at a con from Thursday until today and heaven knows that short weeks are always hell on my writing. I got a whopping total of 3700 words written all week.

But I had fun and got some great books, didn't have to cook or clean so it's all good. I'm just glad to be home to my nice comfortable rut. It's better for writing and getting stuff done than being out doing things. *grin*

*hugs you* Hopefully the rest of the year will be better for you. It can't last forever, now can it? *more hugs*
