What scene did you first put down in a current WiP?
In the sense of "type out" I tend to write very, very linearly. However, in terms of "the scene that I first imagined and planned out," for Heroes of the Squared Circle it was a scene in the middle of the series where Bruce and Clark are "fighting" each other and Bruce gets injured and Clark has to pretend to taunt him while actually freaking out and trying to buy him some time. That mix of identity play and angst was probably what started the whole thing, even though I didn't actually write it out for...a year or so.
How about you? Let me know what you're working on and where it's going!

Date: 2016-03-18 02:57 pm (UTC)Generally I write into the dark so the first scene is the opening. My short stories especially I'll start with a title, 3-5 random names and a mood. Maybe an object like a tree or book or something. And then I just go. I'll get ideas of what the later scenes might be like but they're never the same when I sit down and write. It's fun.
I'm very near the end of the current Manor verse novel. I've gotten Kaoru and Yuki into bed together but it's just snuggling. Not sure if the snuggling will lead to the proposal I want or just Kaoru relaxing. If it's a proposal, then I'm like 2 chapters from the end. If not, probably more like 4 or 5. We'll see what happens with I sit down to write today.
And I think I said that I am doing the Second Chances challenge? Well, I am and I'm getting really excited for it. I just need to get my project file posted over on the site and do a bunch of cover fixes, formatting fixes, updates for the existing books in the series. Because it's needed to happen for ages and this will get me off my butt to do it. Two birds with one stone!
Hope your week goes well!

Date: 2016-03-19 01:33 am (UTC)Yay for snuggling! Coincidentally, I JUST finished writing a scene of my characters snuggling (like an hour ago!) and am still giddy from how happy it made me to write. I'm loving this series, it's getting very little feedback and I love it so much I don't even much care. I hope your characters provide you with happy writing whether it's 2 or 5 chapters!
