Oh look, I found a new list of writing questions! Let's give them a try and apply them to whatever you're currently working on!
--What inspired you to write your current WiP the way you are?
That's a bit vague, but let's see... My biggest current WiP is the superhero/wrestling fusion, which came about because I was watching wrestling and started drawing parallels between that and superheroes (the good v. evil narratives; the cyclical nature of the stories; the private-public identity split). Then I started finding parallels between the actual stories (major deaths or disasters; similar characters) and it just kind of grew from there.
I would love to hear about your WiPs in comments--not just superhero stories but anything!

Date: 2016-03-11 04:31 am (UTC)My current WIP is a romance novel with a trans female and a cis man with Generalized Anxiety Disorder (with panic attacks). I wanted a queer female for this one and well, Yuki sort of stepped up and smacked me within the first couple of paragraphs so she was it. And Kaoru, well, he's the last son of three in the current trilogy so yeah, that worked out there. It took starting to write him for me to realize that the differences in behavior I saw in the first two books were due to his GAD. Once I had that it all fit together very well indeed.
So yeah, the characters and the genre determined this one.
Which should, FYI, be done in time for the Second Chances challenge. I've officially signed up for it and created a banner. I even have a title and a blurb for it. It'll be a good thing when I get to start it because wow, now I'm all excited to get going on it. :D
Writing's gone very well this week. I've managed to get 12,500 words or so and I suspect I'm about 4-8 chapters from the end of the book. Probably closer to eight since I just had Yuki dive into the stormy surf to save someone. H/C sick times with Kaoru are a go! XD

Date: 2016-03-15 11:48 am (UTC)Whoo! As someone working toward giving someone a bad cut on the head just for you're-injured-oh-no freakouts, I love that writers are so cheerful about hurting our characters. :)
Oooh, I like the way your story crystallized out from the characters you wanted to write! It sounds very organic.
