--Inspiration, time, or motivation. Choose two.
Eeeeek. In general I would choose what I actually have, which is inspiration and motivation. I'll write in the scraps of time I can find here or there, I'll write a sentence at a time, tapped out on my phone while waiting in line for groceries (a situation I experienced this week!) if I must, but without the other two what's the point? Certainly I would like more time too, though! :) How about you, what's your ideal and what do you actually have recently?

Date: 2015-08-14 02:49 am (UTC)Currently I have motivation and time and inspiration, but I'm missing a 3rd thing, mental capacity. I'm hoping it's temporary. Because it's terrifying to have my brain, which has always worked to do this thing, suddenly not work no matter how I push.

Date: 2015-08-14 03:21 am (UTC)My ideal would be all three, of course, but I really would pick inspiration and time every single time.
I've given myself all three this week though time's the biggest challenge. I decided to try a scaled down version of a challenge Dean Wesley Smith (one of the pro writers I follow) set for himself. He wrote 31 stories in 31 days in July and actually got 32 done. I'm trying to write 7 stories in 7 days, starting Monday. So far I have four stories done which is like awesome and stunning. I didn't expect to succeed this well.
The downside is that I haven't gotten anything ready to publish this week but hey, writing is good.
Hope you manage to corral time, inspiration and motivation to get lots of writing done this week!

Date: 2015-08-15 12:34 am (UTC)Well, that's a good question--what exactly IS "motivation," you know? I assumed basically "the desire to write," that sort of urge to get words out--but that can take all sorts of forms, too.

Those are both incredibly impressive! I hope it's continued apace for you! I actually had time, inspiration, AND motivation yesterday but forgot one other necessity--battery life on my laptop on the train! That was painful, typing with one eye on the battery indicator... :P
