Jul. 24th, 2015 10:04 pmQuestion of the week: What was your first fic?
Mine was a Blake's 7 post-canon story that was only a slight fixit (only a couple of the characters survive the ending) with slashy undertones. Of all canons I know, Blake's 7 might be the one that most inspires fixit fic. :)
I got something like 5000 words written over the last few days, because I suddenly realized I have a deadline coming up and this story is definitely refusing to stay at under....10,000 words. Oh dear. How are things going for you?

Date: 2015-07-24 03:02 pm (UTC)...it will never see the light of day as I believe I've destroyed all copies of the horror. *amused snort*
First published fic is over here if you want to struggle through my early can't-format-for-the-internet and don't understand how to properly write description efforts. That's in the process of being (slowly) redrafted into an actual book. Original of course.
My first fanfic was Superman Returns Beginnings which was a post-movie story bringing Richard and Clark together. At least by that point I'd figured out something about narrative structure. *grin*
This week hasn't been as good for me for writing. A coworker was off on Monday and Tuesday so that knocked a huge hole in my time and energy. I should make it up next week as my husband is off on a business trip Sunday through Friday so I'll have plenty of free time for writing in the evenings.
Good luck on your story! Sometimes they just need more words, don't they?

Date: 2015-07-27 01:45 pm (UTC)I hate hate hate when unplanned events throw things off, so I feel your pain! Hehe, I have to admit that the weekends my husband has to be off judging debate tournaments are soome of my most productive--I don't exactly look forward to the time apart, but it is definitely a silver lining...
I'm lucky that I'm really loving the story I'm writing, so it's been really smooth sailing! Over 8,000 words now and finally approaching the crisis...
