How is the writing going for everyone? I finished an exchange fic and am hard at work on another one--neither is going to set the world on fire, but I hope they make my recip happy, they were fun to write. I hadn't written a threesome in ages and it was an interesting challenge! TOO MANY LIMBS.

How about the rest of you? Keeping all your limbs straight? :)

XD Too many limbs is always an issue with threesomes. And moresomes, too. I kinda have fun figuring it out but generally end up going strongly into one person's head so I only have to worry about what they can see and feel instead of describing what everyone is doing.

I was keeping my limbs straight but my arms flared up yesterday and everything hurts today. :( Not to the point of not being able to do things but wow, I forget how much it sucks when it's not hurty.

The writing hasn't gone as well this week but that was due to computer problems. If they hadn't gotten in the way I'd probably be much further than I am on the current project. Which is final edits / adding a POV to the story I sold in 2012 and then had to fight to get rights back because they never published it. It's going from a 160K novel into a trilogy of probably 80K - 100K each.

The interesting part is seeing how far my writing has come over the last three years. It's slower than writing fresh but I really want to get this story out so yeah, it's worth it.

Good Lord, I can't imagine tackling a moresome… :-) Though you're right, staying in somebody's head is much as possible would help a lot. It's the same technique that I use during writing battle sequences. For much the same reasons…

Oh no, I'm really sorry to hear about your arms. I know exactly what you mean, it's hard to remember how much it hurts when it isn't hurting. I really hope that things get better soon.

Final edits! Difficult but very necessary. And wow, having to fight to get the rights back to a story sounds like an awful experience. But it turned out okay for you. And yeah, looking at stuff I wrote three years ago is always a little bit jarring. I would find it very hard to edit. You're much better at it than I am, because I think I lack the patience! :-)

With threesomes/moresomes, so far I've found it handy to pick a POV character, and then only include the limbs that character can feel at the moment, but yes, it is a challenge. I find it tougher mapping out where everyone is, there's a reason the last one I wrote was a very planned/premeditated foursome...I cannot imagine writing one where everyone is lost in the throes of passion. Waaaayyy too many randomly moving limbs at that point

It does really help to be very deep in a character's POV--it also makes sense from a writing perspective, the ones I've read that weren't felt like watching someone arrange Barbie dolls. :P But sometimes I'd be like "Wait, can...can he be kissing him right now? Where the heck is he at this point?" :P
