Open Thread: Oracle Hotline

Lots of good work done this week, yay! I discovered that once I stopped complaining about it and sat down to write it, the big 30-person fight scene went just fine (it helped that I ignored about 15 of the people entirely!) Next up...meeting the parents, a trope that I either find fun or slightly agonizing depending on how the character in question deals with it. What scenes are you tackling this week?

Whoot! Congratulations! And that's a totally valid way of handling a fight scene in my opinion. You can't really see everyone in a big fight anyway, not if you're writing/seeing it from one character's pov. Have fun with the parents!

I think I found the end of my novel! *cheers wildly* I'm probably going to end up about 80K, give or take a few thousand, and wow, so much fun. SO MUCH FUN! It's a totally different novel than the first one but it grows organically out of that one and leaves everyone in a much better place (once I get to the ending) and then it even lets me know what edits I need to make on Secrets of the Artificer Mages (the book I 'sold' that never got published and I had to get the rights back on) and whee!

:D

I'm having fun and so jazzed because I just, like three minutes ago, spotted the ending. *beams* Sorry for gushing at you!

The Great Outlining Effort took a back seat to real life mental health shenaningans, unfortunately. But, on the flip side, I wrote some prose, and it was both something you wanted to see and helped me figure out a fragment of canon, so not a total loss.
