That makes a lot of sense as a question! And tends to work well for those of us who are writing romances, because of course the themes tend to come out in the relationships. Bruce is the first person besides his parents that Clark can really trust (okay, he's mentioned Black Condor in a way that hints that he was mentored by him in this world, which I also would like to explore more!), and trust and loneliness are definitely going to be themes. (Really common in my Bruce/Clark work!)
Hope all your themes (and your relationship!) are coming together nicely!

Date: 2026-02-02 03:10 pm (UTC)Right now Dick is keeping Bruce at arms-length, and Bruce is doing his best to give him space. It's not easy for either of them as the search for Harvey, Bruce's old love, continues. I'd say the theme is definitely trust, which we know Bruce has issues with in the comics. This time it's Dick with the issues.

Date: 2026-02-05 07:02 am (UTC)Christopher will be off screen for most of it so the relationship is really explored through Eddie's own feelings and perception of himself and their relationship. He has a lot of guilt regarding his son already, since he left him as a baby to go the army (he admitted he was running away in the guise of providing for his family) and now he feels he has let him down again. Also he's working through his sexuality and feelings for his best friend, who he believes is the cause of the Hanahaki (the platonic version is very rare and not known to Eddie), and it'll get worse before it gets better because they get together and it doesn't stop, leaving them testing their relationship and faith in themselves and each other.
