 --What writing advice do you have for your younger self?

Heh, honestly, I would tell myself I don't have to have sex scenes in my story unless I really want to write them! Sometimes I would feel like they didn't fit the story, or I wouldn't feel like writing one, but I felt like they had to be there. To be fair, I did get some negative reactions when I wrote stories that didn't end in sex scenes, so I guess  I understand why I felt the pressure! But life is too short to force yourself to write something that doesn't feel right.

What advice would you give yourself looking back at your young innocent past?

Hmm, that's a good question!

I guess I'd say don't get lazy. Try and stretch every once in awhile. Comfort zone is great but sometimes you need to try something new.

That's probably why Naked City suits me right now. I'm exploring a new fandom and doing a little stretching (Adam as a mental patient). Also, the difference in ages can present new wrinkles I haven't tackled before.

I'm kind of fascinated by the glimpses I'm getting of your Naked City pairing and fic! I agree, neither of us tend to write big age differences often (okay, Steve/Diana, but I don't think that counts--in terms of experience they come across as about the same age, you know?) Honestly, a big part of why the recent Justice League Superman and Batman didn't click for me was how much older Bruce was than Clark, it just felt very weird. I hope that they're a similar age in whatever version they both show up in next. Still, that does sound like an interesting challenge and maybe I should embrace it more!
