To continue in the vein of last week, what's your LEAST favorite superpower to write? What gives you constant fits--either you can't find the right words or the logistics of it completely baffle you? Mine might be enhanced speed--I can never figure out how the world would seem to someone living at that pace. People mentioned that as a favorite last week and I can see it being an interesting challenge, but I'll stick to flying. *grin*
In writing news, I've spent most of this week struggling with some level of RSI in my right hand--nothing agonizing, just a wandering stiffness/ache in my fingers/wrist/elbow, but I'm trying to be proactive before it gets bad. So lots of time spent seeing if I can get the hang of some voice recognition software, since typing is okay but mousing is pretty painful...and not lots of time writing. I'm also at the planning stages of a couple of things, which has meant slower work anyway! But overall not a satisfying week. I hope it was better for you!

Date: 2015-04-24 02:39 pm (UTC)Writing has gone well this week for me. I'm 22K words into the latest novel and having a blast at it. I really am enjoying getting back to the characters and building more of the world and more of their adventures.
Unfortunately I realized recently that I'm going to have to buy new ISBN numbers AND more credits to get cover art at around the same time. Not a good thing because 100 ISBN cost $575 and getting 500 credits (approximately 15 credits per image) costs $470. I will not have that much money all at once. *sigh* Time to start considering my options. Decisions don't have to be made until late summer but I need to plan now so that I'm ready for it. One of the hazards of self publishing, I'm afraid.
Gah, I hope that your RSI improves! I'm battling a flare up myself due to working on the fence around our yard but it's starting to subside finally. Hopefully by next week I'll be back to normal. Maybe Wednesday or so. *big hug*
Good luck!

Date: 2015-04-29 07:18 am (UTC)Ugh, I'm sorry to hear about the financial woes. I'm learning a lot about self-publishing through watching you! It is definitely a whole different world from writing fanfic… (I will note this voice recognition software knows how to say fanfic… That's a pleasant surprise!)
As you can see, I'm working on getting some voice recognition software going. It's nice, but putting in all of the punctuation by myself really breaks the mood. That makes it difficult for writing stories, but not too bad for answering comments… So wish me luck with that!
