--What inspired your most recent WiP?

I know I've asked this before, but I figure the answer may well change as WiPs (and our relationships to them) change. The one I'm hoping to tackle most seriously got inspired by comic books--amazing! Comic books have not been inspiring to me for a while! I think having AU/Elseworlds where Clark and Bruce aren't married and don't have kids really helps (I love Lois, Jon and Damian, but somehow having the characters actually be husbands and fathers makes them much less shippy for me personally). 

I'm hoping 2025 is inspiring to you in whatever way you need!

What inspired my most recent WIP? Discovering all the episodes of Naked City were on YouTube. 🥳

I'd heard about the show for years but never saw it in syndication. Delighted to see them on YouTube. So I watched them all and noticed the Seasons 2-4 detective team (different team Season 1) was throwing off slashy vibes. A few examples:

Getting into each other's personal space and totally comfortable with it.

Protectiveness.

When Frank is shot, Adam loses it beautifully.

More examples, and quite impressive for a late '50s/early '60s TV show where the men were supposed to be tough guys. They are, but Adam is surprisingly sensitive and shows it, and Frank makes sure that sensitivity doesn't trip him up.

Despite having maybe 5 readers for this obscure show, I'm still inspired to write! ☺️

Oh, yay for YouTube putting up obscure shows! I felt the same way about "Scarecrow and Mrs. King," which was an old favorite of mine.

The most important quality for a cop in a police show, in my humble opinion! :)
