Oh no, I failed to post this last week after writing it and everything! I guess I'll post it now (I've gotten no further writing done, so it still works...)

I've been in Sweden! I did not get much work done on the next fic I'm trying to write, but I did get the scene set (I've never started a fic with "It was a dark and stormy night," but it fit the canon really well so I went with it!) The first scene is in the middle of a storm in a small house near the beach, so it's been nice to pull back memories of beach houses from my childhood. Hopefully next week I can kick the plot into action!

How about you, what's the setting of the scene you're in the middle of writing right now? And how is the writing going in general?

I'm writing a scene in a mental hospital and keeping it low-key. It's an upscale hospital so the environment is different from a state-run institution, but the health issues are the same.

My sweep-through for typos is going well on the original fic. 130,000+ words takes awhile to go through! 🧐

Ooooh, that sounds like an interesting challenge! I remember you writing Shutter Island fic but it sounds very different than that!

I'm still trying to bounce between fics trying to see what appeals to me, but nothing has stuck so far. So working on finding new inspiration!

I hope you find some new inspiration! I'm happy because last night I suddenly made a fannish connection I hadn't made before and that has me fired up to write some meta... if only I had time! I'll be traveling again soon so everything is sort of CRUNCHing up against that harsh reality...
