 I'm enjoying writing about fandom trends, so... What are three of your favorite tropes to write? What tends to show up a lot in your work?

I guess just mentally rummaging through my fic I think amnesia, pining, and pretend relationship tend to come up a lot! (I love a good pretend relationship!) I haven't finished my canon review for the fic I'm turning over in my head, but I think it'll have a bit of pining there. So far it refuses to have a plot that I can actually hang much on, sadly. That's okay, I'm trying to be very low-stakes! I hope your writing is going well!

Time travel, weddings and domestic bliss. ☺️

I would say domestic bliss encompasses a couple who have been married awhile but still crazy in love. Most of my fics in which the couple is married starts out with them a few years after the wedding. I just enjoy established married couples. ☺️

I also really love stories about married couples who are still head-over-heels about each other!

I might have found something of a plot for my fic! There's a mermaid-adjacent character (kind of an orca-human cross) who's half-human, and I think she might get turned human by a spall (but of course her lover loves her best in mermaid form!) I could write some fun fish-out-of-water (haha) scenes with her trying to figure out Victorian culture...

I'm with you on pretend relationships! They're definitely one of my favorites too. I also like to write getting together and friends with benefits, even if I can't write smut. I just love anything where there's pining involved and some misunderstandings. :D
