This is a very "duh" question for me this week, because it's a history/biography, so of course! Usually that's a lot rarer when I'm writing fiction, although sometimes I'll have some historical parallels.
This week has been brutal--classes started and so of course I immediately have no time, and also a houseguest came to visit for a night yesterday so the house had to be immaculate! Hoping to get back to at least an hour a day of writing starting tomorrow, though... How are things with you?

Even though the timeline of my stories would coincide with major real world events, if the canon doesn't address them, I tend to leave it out too, because it makes me uncomfortable to throw them in (ex: if a canon is airing in 2001 - I still wouldn't write a fic about 9/11, though I don't judge others for doing so). I have used familiarity with a skill or a location when I can, such as when I write a character baking or the like.
