Oh, sure! It's not like it's permanent, after all, and there are certainly issues of dealing with grief and mortality that are compelling to write about. I do think it's a good idea to warn people so they can avoid it if they're not personally in the mood to run into those issues in a fic--and in my experience, warning people doesn't seem to lessen the impact of it at all when it happens.

I've gotten some good writing done this week! Bruce is finally mentoring his kids and that's a joy to write. :)

Oh yes. I already have and it made for one of my absolute most popular stories ever (The Collar but mind the warnings if you choose to read it). I think when you allow death to happen, permanent death in my case, then it gives the story much more punch. But yeah, warnings are very definitely a thing that's needed for death fic.

I haven't gotten as much as I wanted written this week as I spent Monday and Tuesday doing publishing things but I have been very productive overall so it all evens out. I'm finally at the dramatic conclusion of my current book and wow, it's going to be a blast to write it. :D

Have fun with Bruce mentoring--that is fun!

This question is clearly written from a fanfic perspective so I will answer it as best as I can: yes, from a narrative standpoint I have to (and they die of age eventually), but I tend to get overly attached to dead characters and try to find excuses to resurrect them and it's a damn good thing I write fantasy for that, but seriously it's a bad habit I ought to break. I have a hard time leaving people dead.

In fanfiction I'm always grateful when people warn me away from it because I'm almost never in the mood to read it.
