Like you I'm a LOT more okay with writing stories with major character death than reading them--the only ones I've found I can handle are ones where it's canonical (I'll read Thorin/Bilbo that's canon-compliant), but even then it's not usually something I'm thrilled to read.

I confess I like your tendency to resurrect! Hey, it's a common trope in anime and manga--killing off characters, then bringing them back in some way to manage a happy ending. I never get tired of it.
