Are you more of a drabble or a longfic kind of writer? Pantser or plotter? Do you wish you were the other?

Actually not really either? I'm not concise enough for drabbles a lot of the time, and I lack the stamina for novel-length, so I tend to clock in between 3,000-5,000 words--typical short story length, on the whole! I like the structure of a short story, usually. And I tend to be a plotter rather than winging it, usually (though trusting my instincts sometimes is important!) The fic I'm poking tentatively at I'm probably over-plotting right now (I'm doing too much research) and should probably dive right in...

What length is your current WiP looking to end up at?

Short stories are my usual thing, too, though sometimes I bestir myself to write longform. My current WIP will end up at least around 30,000 words.

I guess I could say I'm a pantser. I rarely write an outline. Usually I start with the beginning and ending and then try and piece together from Point A to Point B. I might have certain scenes and chapters in mind, but the journey is kind of pantsing. ;)

I do like to write drabbles and double drabbles on occasion. Great writing exercise! How do I take a strength like description and winnow it down to 100 or 200 words while still conveying what I want to say?
