--Anyone suffering from a broken heart in your latest WiP?
Nope! My fics exist to fix broken hearts, on the whole, so they only exist in the middle of the story if at all. Pining is about as broken as I'm likely to go.
I ended up having to skip Yuletide this year--first because I don't have the time, and second because I keep getting assigned the same person in exchanges, I have for about 3 years now in a variety of exchanges, and although they're a really nice person I just feel like they're likely to be getting tired of fic by me for their gifts. I could have tried to jigger my offers to avoid it, but they always request the characters and pairings I love most! Considering I'm very unsure I could write anything worth the time to read this year, it seemed safest to just skip it.
I'm feeling really low because for the last few weeks all I've done is go to school, come home and work until I fall asleep, repeat. I can make a few gifs during my commute so I keep my hand in there, but there's no time for anything else, and I'm just... tired. I've got a couple of days off coming up and maybe I can get through some of my backlog of comments, including here, which is currently at over a thousand? Here's hoping, and here's hoping you're doing better!

You're in a valley right now, Mithen. You'll get back to your peak. You've just got to slog through this one for awhile. We're all thinking of you! :)
Very wise decision to skip Yuletide this year. You sound too stressed right now. You can get back to it next year.
Nobody's heartbroken in my fics right now, though Bruce might be soon. I don't know if DC showed his reaction to Dick's shooting right away or not, but I might have something to write about that.
And I'm thinking fix-it fic for them soon! I can't express how much I hate the new direction for Dick. His memories and ties with Bruce were always one of the most interesting things about him, not to mention his joy, bad puns, integrity, etc. Now he looks and acts like Jason 2.0. Don't we have enough downers in the Batclan already?
So maybe something will flow forth from my pen soon! :)
In them meantime, Halloween continues to be my inspiration. :)

It's really interesting I come across this comment now, because I JUST read the Nightwing Annual and it shows Bruce's reactions to Dick getting shot! They are as over-the-top panicked as one might want, to be honest, and he's clearly so totally destroyed by Dick not remembering him that he, uh, makes some really poor decisions, Bruce, you dummy. I've hated this amnesia story as well, but the Annual has given me some hope that it might be drawing to an end, so there's that...
