--What is your writing Kryptonite?

I think this question can be taken a couple of different ways, either "what keeps you from writing?" or "what are you unable to resist writing as often as possible?"

For the former, the thing that destroys my ability to write is pressure, whether in the form of deadlines or expectations from other people. I had a pairing that I ended up increasingly unable to write because I had a friend who got vocally unhappy if I wrote the "wrong" one of the two topping, and I ended up second-guessing every sex scene ("Am I writing X topping out of spite now? Am I writing him bottoming just to keep this person happy?") so much that it became almost impossible to write sex with them at all.

What am I always weak for? I'm a trope-junkie, I love taking established tropes and seeing how to make them fit new characters in fun ways. My life in a fandom isn't complete until I've managed some form of amnesia, sex pollen, handcuffed together, truth serum, and fake dating. Maybe I'll try to put them all into one fic someday. :)

I actually have two pieces completed and waiting for a beta, so I'm really happy about that! Writing has been slow but when I do it, I'm enjoying it a lot... I hope the same is true for you! (the enjoying, not the slow).

PMS. Seriously, the times I'm hardest on myself, hate my writing the most and wonder if it's worth continuing are all tied up with PMS. Which only took me, oh, about 35 years to figure out. *rolls eyes* I frankly only got it somewhere in the last year or two.

For the what are you unable to resist writing, it's found families and happy endings. If I have those, man, I'm unstoppable. I love your tropes, too, though.

Yay for getting stories done! I just finished a new short story (I'm trying to write another 8 short stories so I have enough to publish every week to the end of the year) and then I had to go figure out the new GCDP thing that's been haunting everyone.

I, an inveterate procrastinator, should have gotten it done last week. At the latest as the policy goes into place tomorrow. I sent the emails out to everyone (all 32 people) on my list tonight. *headdesk*

Oh well. It's 32 people. I'm not going to fuss if only a few rejoin the list afterwards.

I've never understood people's obsession with who tops and who bottoms.

Sometimes a slow pace allows you to relax. I understand when there's a deadline looming. Great writing discipline but not as much fun. :)

Maybe I should read everything before answerin--no. Porn. Porn is the answer. In either instance, it is porn. Either I'm excited to write the porn, or I skip over it for that... I think it's called 'plot'? Maybe. Don't quote me on that though!

(And if anyone looked at my writing from the last month, all they would see is blowjobs. lmao That is my go-to right now, apparently. Does this story need a blowjob? No, but apparently I'll write one in anyway!)

I work better with tight deadlines and I hate it. I love being able to write at my leisure, but I NEVER DO IT. I only crack down and get moving if I've got like 15 minutes (or less smh) to finish something! That's another of my goals this year, to finally... not... wait for the literal last second to get my arse in gear. (I say that while attempting to cram in a bunch of fics for last year's Season of Kink that I have had an entire year to work on, but no. Let's do it the last week. And add a bonus square because why not.)

Oh man, that's really too bad that you had someone who wouldn't support how you wanted to write a pairing. D= I mean, sure, I have preferences, but I typically see all pairings as switch and people should be allowed to explore those dynamics however they want. (The Stancest community became increasingly negative toward Ford being bottom, which is... why I kind of don't write Stancest anymore. It's really disheartening!)

The fact that people still take the top/bottom issue so seriously has me quite nervous to finally post some SanoxSaitou stuff I have been working on cause... that is not how the fandom does (did? I dunno, Rurouni Kenshin is an old, very quiet fandom these days) that pairing. But gods do I loves me some submissive Saitou. ;_;

Writing has not hardly happened at all this last week, but I am pushing myself to get back into the swing of things! I'm actually feeling inspired tonight and managed to push forward and write something! (And yes, that something was, indeed, a blowjob.)

See, I do agree that in general, blowjobs are the perfect answer to the top/bottom problem. Blowjobs fix EVERYTHING.
