Happy Thursday! I'm stalled out on two different stories right now because their endings both depend on what happens in the next installment of canon, alas! Which means I'm starting other stories instead while I wait, which means I now have...five WiPs, which is unprecedented for me, I think. How many WiPs do you have going right now, and is that standard or not for you? How are they going?

Just the one WIP. I've been trying very hard to only work on one story at a time. I find I finish things faster and more reliably if I only do one story. It's too easy to let things lapse into nonexistence if I have multiple going.

On the other hand I have about fifty billion ideas I'd like to write. I figure if the idea survives until I actually get to writing it then there's enough there to make a good story.

The current novel is going good. My time to write bottomed out on Wednesday and hasn't recovered but I'm going to get another round of writing tonight after I post this so maybe I'll get more than I thought tonight. At least I know just what I want to happen in the current chapter. Make the writing go faster.

I don't know why I became WiP Central! Wait, I do know, it's the canon's fault. Comic books are easier in some ways--well, they could have been tough if I'd tied more fic to canon events, but somehow I never did! It was easier to write free-floating stuff, somehow...

That's generally the approach I take, too! I worry I'll lose that manic energy, but I figure if I do, it never had enough to sustain a whole story...

I hope your writing hit a good jag once you reached that point where you knew just what you wanted to happen! I always dread sitting down for those sections where I know I have to get from A to B, but I just don't know how yet...
